Horsing around at the Fairyhouse Easter Festival 2014
Gentlemen, start saving! Ladies get your hats, shoes and dresses at the ready! The Fairyhouse Easter Festival is right around the corner. Yes that’s right, be prepared for a weekend of fast horses, high stakes and heart racing excitement.
Sunday 20th to Monday 21st April sees the highly anticipated Easter horse racing festival return to the Fairyhouse grounds in Co Meath. The festival kicks off with a family fun day on Sunday with events throughout the day and the main attraction being the Power’s Gold Cup Day. The best horses, jockeys and trainers will be out in full force to claim the prestigious prize so make sure to do your homework before placing that bet!
The Fairyhouse Irish Grand National
Make sure to save some of your winnings from Sunday for the ultimate showdown in Irish horse racing. The Grand National, Ireland’s richest handicap chase will be the main feature once again at the Fairyhouse Easter Festival and it never disappoints. With twenty four fences over 3 miles and 5 furlongs this is one race not to be missed! However, it could well be the ladies who steal the show come Monday afternoon. Easter Monday is also Ladies Day with ’All that glitters is gold’ being the theme for the day. A day to dress your best. Judges will be on the lookout for style and confidence being incorporated into the gold theme.
So if you’re looking for that thrilling experience that only a day at the races provides, be sure to make your way East for the highlight of the racing calender. Remember, Easter is creeping up so book your Meath accommodation in advance.
